Perfect Panoramas Of London

London is a city that loves to be looked at. Walk down any street and you’ll be blown away by the rich layers of architecture and life that add to its collage of diversity. What’s more, the city has many hills, making that perfect picture a possibility for Bayswater Bed And Breakfast guests.

Whether you’re visiting London for work, family or for literal sightseeing, the possibilities of London’s skylines not only bring you there for the view, but for the surrounding neighbourhoods and attractions too. If you’re a visitor to London you may well want to survey the majesty of the skyline, especially if you’re a first time guest of hotels in Bayswater London looking to orient yourself in the city.

This blog will outline some of the best viewpoints in London, providing guests of hotels in London near Oxford Street with context for their surrounding area. This is a showcase not only of great views, but great days out in the 32 boroughs of London.

Greenwich Observatory

Greenwich Observatory

Situated in the beautiful royal Greenwich Park, Greenwich Observatory and more broadly, the hill upon which it sits provide stunning views over the Isle of Dogs and the eastern meanders of the River Thames. Make sure to explore the park as well, which hosts cafes, green fields and the gorgeous National Maritime Museum. Greenwich Observatory’s hill has more historic importance, being where the navigational line of Greenwich Meridian passes through.

Point Hill

Greenwich Park can get rather busy, so if you’d rather a quieter spot to survey the vistas of Canary Wharf then the nearby Point Hill, situated in front of Blackheath and Greenwich Park is a quaint garden square with an incredible overlook of London. Especially at dusk, this overlook provides beautiful panoramas stretching all the way to London Bridge and the curves of the Thames, and at sunset gives a stunning display of city lights slowly blinking to life.

The Shard

The Shard

For guests of the hotels near Buckingham Palace wanting to keep their London skylines a little more central, the six restaurants of the Shard building provide views from 30 plus floors up the iconic skyscraper. Sit back and relax with some Asian fusion and British cuisine whilst surveying up to 40 miles of uninterrupted skyline from the heart of Westminster.

SkyGarden

Another central London beauty and one that you won’t have to book a sitdown meal for, the SkyGarden is a rockery and botanic garden stretching over two floors from the 34th and 35th levels of the Walkie Talkie Building. Located on Fenchurch Street, you’ll need to reserve a free booking for your half hour stint on this viewing platform, complete with observation decks, greenhouse walks and restaurants and cafes.

Primrose Hill

Regent’s Park provides plenty of royal level spectacles including the London Zoo and Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. The crowning jewel though, is Primrose Hill, a beautiful picnic spot worthy of any tourist in the London area. Rising 63 metres over the leafy park, Primrose Hill offers a widescreen panorama over much of London’s centre.
